Alexander Skarsgård is a Swedish actor born in Stockholm on August 25, 1976, known for his roles in the HBO series True Blood, the Emmy-winning Big Little Lies, and films like The Northman. He comes from a family of actors, including his father Stellan Skarsgård and brothers Gustaf Skarsgård and Bill Skarsgård. After starting his career as a child actor in Sweden, he served in the Swedish Navy before returning to acting and gaining U.S. recognition with the miniseries Generation Kill and the vampire series True Blood.
